Emulating a Professional Photographer

For this assignment, I think this is my best photo. I chose to emulate famous photographer, Georgia Okeefe's images. I believe this is my best photo because it accurately depicts the original photo and gives off the same vibe. I thought that the most challenging part of this assignment was finding photos that I would be able to recreate. I went through a lot of different photographers and their work was a lot more abstract. In the future, I will continue using the skills I have learned in this class to take better photos. The different techniques that we learned were extremely helpful and will help me to create different stories in each of my images.
You did a great job emulating Georgia O' Keeffe's work! The inspiration is clearly there because the pictures just look so similar to each other. I honestly don't have a critique because I really like how your image is a different black and white than Georgia's because of the difference in the flower's color. I think this adds originality to it to show that it's your work however, it's still similar enough to O' Keeffe's work that it could be hers too.

Hi Jill! I think your photo came out great and it shows much similarity to the work of Georgia O'Keeffe. I like how you decided to choose a different contrast of color than the original artist's photo, making it your own but basing it off of the artist's work. They are both very aesthetically pleasing photos, capturing the details of the flower, so I think you picked a great photo as your best. From simply looking at the photos not knowing who took it, they could both be from the same photographer, so you did a great job at following the photographic technique and style as Georgia's work.
I think you did a great job emulating Georgia O'Keeffe's work. I really like the picture you chose as your best picture. I think you were able to perfectly capture the same composition and lighting in your photographer as your inspiration picture. You were even able to keep the flower in the foreground with the leaves in the background like O'Keeffe's. The only thing I would change would be trying to find a lighter flower so that when changing it to black and white it matches the lighter color of O'Keeffe's flower in order to keep the coloring similar. Great work!
