Multimodal Presentation

Synopsis:
For my Presentation, I have chosen to review the work of Surah Kehinde. Kehinde is known for his landscape, lifestyle, and aerial photography that is fueled by a passion for adventure. Each frame that Kehinde captures is a testament to the art of visual storytelling. From vibrant landscapes to portraits, every camera click captures life’s diverse and beautiful moments, inviting viewers to join in on his creative journey. Kehinde has shot in a variety of different places including Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC, Lake Como, Switzerland, and many more, all capturing a unique narrative. Some of Kehinde’s work has been recognized in various outlets such as the BaltMag. I was interested in Suraj’s work because he inspires others to pursue their passions behind the lens, making his websites and social media a place of exploration for viewers. A lot of his work allows you to see the world in different and unique ways and inspires you to appreciate the beauty within the world and photography.
My New Perception of Photography:
Through the exploration of Kehinde’s work and my own creative journey, my perception of photography has evolved. I now appreciate the power of photography, and its ability to capture such beautiful moments to tell a story. I now see photography as an art form that has the ability to evoke emotions, convey stories, and inspire viewers. Photography requires a lot of skill in composition and lighting, as well as storytelling, and there are a lot of elements that go into taking a ‘good’ photo. I have been very interested in nature photography for a long time and Kehinde’s work has inspired me to keep working hard and reminded me of the endless possibilities that exist within photography.

Course Goals and Achievements
Over the course of the semester, I have learned so much about photography that I did not know before. Looking back, I definitely achieved my goals. I was able to become more creative with what I was photographing and I also learned how different lighting could affect an image. I did not do too much editing with softwares, but felt more confident in my editing skills. I also feel as though I have a different perspective on taking photos and really enjoyed my time in this class.
